11/24/25 - Temple P-Day!

I didn't send an email last week cause we went to the Temple on Friday!

Highlights:
The Temple! I love every time that I've been able to go to the temple.

Stake Conference that we were able to bring 4 people to and we sang in the stake choir.

We went on a hike today for the last P-Day of the transfer! It was so cool!

Service project helping a member move!

We're cooking a lot so were learning how to cook better.

Lowlights:
Not having P-Day on Monday. We were dying on Tuesday with 3 more days till Friday (Temple p-day)

There was a parade/protest that made us late to the service project

We're not having many lunch with members so we're having to cook to ourselves.

Have a great week!

11/10/25 - Contatos na rua e Coral

Happy Monday!

This week also was also pretty normal.

This week we focused a lot on finding people, a lot of time trying to do street contacts. Most of the time there was no one on the street, so we were walking around to find we're the people were. We spent pretty much all of Saturday on empty streets.

This next week we're singing in the stake choir so we've been rehearsing for the last couple weeks. The choir's sounding pretty good! This Saturday and Sunday we'll be singing during the stake conference.

Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you. And they want the best for you. You just have to want to do your best and they will bless you!

Have a great week!

11/3/25 - Rope climb

This week was pretty normal.

During this week we passed by a gym that had ropes to the ceiling. So we stopped and I asked if I could try climbing one. The worker said, "go for it." So, I found out that I can climb a rope with pretty much just my arms. Exercising on the mission's going pretty well 💪

I'm still getting to know the people here, especially the members, the works going pretty well!

Just like muscles you can exercise your testimony by bearing it and using it, and your testimony will grow and become super strong!

Have a good week!

10/27/25 - Opa

Happy Monday!

Since it was a short week, it'll be a short email.
Things are going well here, im getting to know the area and the people. There's a bunch of work to do here!
My new companion, Elder Gaspar, is pretty awesome, it's gonna be a fun transfer!

We've taken 2 trips so far out to the other side of our zone, a city called Ribeirão Pires, for zone council and p-day. It's the smallest city I've been to since the start of my mission and it's so cool! It's pretty clean and there's not as many people on the streets as in the bigger city's here.

Also, mission is getting split next July!🤯 São Paulo South mission, which is already the smallest proselytizing mission in the world is getting cut down by more than half it's size! They're opening Brazil São Bernardo Mission. I'll only get to be here for a month or two after the division, but we'll see what happens when we get closer.

Being on a mission is such an amazing experience! I'm loving every part of it! I have learned so much and my testimony of Jesus Christ has grown so much! I'm grateful for all the experiences I've had and am excited to see everything I will experience!

Have a great week!

10/22/25 - Transfers

Boa noite!

This week was super good! We got a bunch of work done and got our area ready for transfers. We did some visits with some of our recent converts. They're some super great people, I'll miss them.

Transfers happened today and I have left Assunção. :( I was hoping that the day wouldn't come but it came. Assunção is the best area that I've had yet on my mission. Spending over 4 months there, I got to get to know and make friends with the members. Which makes it hard to leave. I loved the time I had in Assunção with Elder Ramildo. I learned a lot and made a lot of friends and I'm really sad I had to leave but it part of the work.

Our last night in the area we had dinner with a super amazing family in the ward! Shout-out to the Costa family.

I'm now back in zone Mauá, but in a different area this time. My new companion is Elder Gasper from Fortaleza Brasil. And in am living with an Equadorian and 2 Brazilians. It'll be cool to get to know more of the Brazilian culture.

So for little spiritual thought, take advantage of all the little moments in your lives. Every little moment with a friend and a loved one, cause one day the times will move. One od the only constants in life is change. Trust God that he'll lead you to where you need to be.

Have a great week!

10/13/25 - Zone conference

Hello again!

We had Zone Conferance this week, which was super good! I was a little discouraged before just going through the motions, then the trainings during the zone conference really helped me get excited again about the work, there really is nothing better that I could be doing with my life than God's work! The zone conference was exactly what I was needing. I was having some doubts and some questions, during the talks it was *bam!* answer, *blam!* another answer, and so forth.

After the zone conference, when I got more excited about the work, we started seeing success again. We had some great lessons and the members helped a lot! It still wasn't easy, but I was able to be excited about what we're doing. I think it comes down to a teaching from Presendent Nelson, "Joy is not about the circumstances of our life, but the focus" (not exact quote) looking at the little successes instead of what's going wrong helps us find joy.

Have a great week!

10/6/25 - Conferência Geral!

Opa blz? Tranquilo?

O hope y'all had an amazing General Conference weekend!

The week was pretty normal. Except for this weekend! General conference was amazing! We got to watch almost all the sessions in our chapel. In between the sessions we went out, did some visits, delivered some Livros de Mórmon and taught some lessons. It went a lot better than we had planned cause we got a member to give us a ride!

During conference is an amazing time of learning and revelation. Something that stood out to me is how many times it was said "We are children of God!" And how "We have divine potential!" I've been studying about the Plan of Salvation a lot lately and like D&C says "studying it our in your mind and then ask if you are right" (not the exact quote). General conference confirmed a lot of the conclusions that I had come to with the help of the Gospel Library app and the scriptures.

All of us, especially YOU, are children of a loving Father in Heaven. He wants the best for you so he has prepared all the help you need to return to him and fulfill your divine potential. This help is Jesus Christ and His atonement. We are joint-heirs with Christ. Thanks the Jesus Christ we can be saved and we can live with our Heavenly Father again and receive all the blessing of eternal life and all the other blessings God has for us.

Have a great week and remember your divine potential!

9/29/25 - Vai com Deus Presy Nelson

Once again I am writing really late, so it'll be a quick one this week.

We've been focusing a lot on finding new people this week, and it's gone well! We've found some new families that have a bunch of potential.

There's been some big news in the church these last few days. With the passing of our beloved Prophet Russle M. Nelson and the shooting in the church in Michigan. Is really is, and will be, impossible to survive spiritually without the guiding influence of the Holy Ghost. It will be continually harder and harder to be a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ as we get closer and closer to His second coming. We need to have a firm foundation, a testimony built upon the rock which is our Lord Jesus Christ. And we have to continue doing the small things. Pray, read the scriptures, and going to church. And we'll be able to continue growing and arrive at the Celestial Kingdom and live with our Heavenly Father once again.

Have a great week and General Conferance Weekend!

9/22/25 - Mission Tour w/ Elder Koch! E 🌊

This'll be a short one cause I kinda forgot about email haha.
This week we had a mission tour with the President of the Brasil area, President Koch! He is such a spiritual guy and I learned a lot from him!

We had a baptism this week! The little sister, Uine, of the guys who got baptized a few weeks ago got baptized!! Our primary president is amazing and put all the decorations together and bought some gifts for her, shout out to Daylane! Everything was pretty much perfect, except that Uine's mom decided to go out Saturday night and missed the baptism. But other than that it was great!

One thing that President Koch talked about was studying the scriptures. There's 4 leves to reading the scriptures, Read, Study, Feast, and Treasure up (I hope it makes sense in English). Ler, Estudar, Banquetear, Entesourar for the português speakers. When we read the scriptures, we shouldn't just read, and we shouldn't just study, to feast on the words of Christ is good, but there's one more step. Treasure up the words of Christ, put them in a place in your mind where you can find them at a moments notice to share a scripture with a friend. Get to know the scriptures like the back of your hand and believe in the words and meaning that they carry!

Have a good week!

9/15/25 - Zoo!🦍🐒🐊🦒🐘🦓🐅

A pretty short week this week cause of transfers, bit it was pretty interesting!

We found out while we were walking around on Saturday that there was a multicultural event happening at a square in our area. So, plans were moved and we spent most of Saturday and most of Sunday at the event doing contats. We got about 15 contacts there.

We went to the Zoo today!! Zoológico de São Paulo. Its one of the biggest zoos in Brasil. I got to see a blue macaw like in the movie Rio! They are soo much bigger in real life and they're so cool! We also got to see a whole bunch of of other cool animals.

Matthew 22
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets

Love God and love your neighbor. The neighbors who you agree with, and those you don't! Keeping these most important commandments will bless your life's and those on your neighbor's, and the world will be a better place.

9/11/25 - Transfers!

Hello again. I forgot to hit send 😬

This week our P-Day was moved to Wednesday 'cause there was a big group of missionaries coming in on Wednesday. So, to avoid all the trainers getting moved around till their new companion got here they just made transfers on Wednesday instead of on Monday.

We've got a friend who's been going to English class and she actually went to church this Sunday and we had a lesson with her on Monday! She's super interested in learning more! Also on Sunday our friend who got baptized last week bore his testimony during fast and testimony meeting! It was so cool to hear!

We got transfer news and me and Elder Ramildo are staying together in this area! I was wanting to train a new American, but I'm juat fine with staying here. I didn't want to leave Assunção. They're such good people here in the ward and we've got a few friends progressing that I didn't want leave. I'm super excited to spend another transfer here!

And that's all folks!

9/1/25 - Batismo!!

I don't got a whole lot of time today to write so I'll get right into it.

Pedro, Richard, end Thales were baptized on Sunday!!! After chasing Thales' mom for 3 days trying to get her signiture cause Thales only is 16 but we finaly caught her while she was is the house. She was able to go to the baptism and she liked it a lot! Now we're going to work with her to help her get to know the church and to help her 8 year old daughter get baptizd also.

On Saterday there was a Mini MTC where all the youth in the stake got together, learned how to teach the Restoration and how to do street contacts, then went out in a park here and did street contacts. All the names, numbers, and adresses we got cause it's our area. We got about 40 referancies from the activity, and were still trying to send messages to everyone and scedule lessons with them.

Alma 5: 18-19
18 Or otherwise, can ye imagine yourselves brought before the tribunal of God with your souls filled with guilt and remorse, having a remembrance of all your guilt, yea, a perfect remembrance of all your wickedness, yea, a remembrance that ye have set at defiance the commandments of God?
19 I say unto you, can ye look up to God at that day with a pure heart and clean hands? I say unto you, can you look up, having the image of God engraven upon your countenances?

When that day comes, and it will come, when we all stand at the Judgement seat of Christ. Can you look at him and say, I have repented of all my sins and I am clean? Live each day of your life so that you can say to God that you have a pure heart and clean hands.

8/27/25 - Hospital, Temple P-Day, and 1 Year!?!?!

We're went to the temple today!! So that's why my P-Day was on Wednesday this week.

This week we had to go to the hospital 2 times cause I got sick, and my ears decided to stop working, it'slike you'redriving in the mountains and your ears need to pop, but they won't so everything's just muffled all time. So last Monday we went to the hospital and the doctor said that cause I was a little sick, the mucas in my nose had blocked the tube's that regulate the pressure in my ears, or something like that. So he gave me some medicine for the cold, and we parted ways. Untill, Friday when it got worse! I got even sicker and my ears got even worse so I could hear even less. So Saturday morning we went back to the hospital. It was a different doctor, she gave me some new medicines to take and to wash my nose out with this bottle that you stick up your nose and squeeze water through till it comes out your other nostril. And we spent most of Saturday just resting. And I'm getting better, so the colds pretty much gone, and I'm slowly getting my hearing back.

Today we had the oportunity to go to the Temple!! The temple really brings so much peace to my life. I have found answers to my questions and have learned so much from the temple. I implore you to visit the temple more offten and bring your questions to the Lord.

I have officially hit one year being a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I have loved this time I have had to learn about our Savior and to help others learn about him too. I have learned so much, and I have changed so much here in Missão São Paulo Sul, and I still have a lot more leaning and growing to do. I know that this is the true church here on Earth and that our Father in Heaven knows and loves each one of us. I know that Jesus Christ suffred and died for each one of us. Yes, He suffred for you🫵 even though you might not know why. He loves you and he does everything in his power to help you returm to His presence. I love being a missionary and I love the chance I get to repay my Savior the little bit that I can offer in return for everything that He has done for me. I'm exited to see what this next year brings and to dedicate myself even more to the Lord, learn even more about him and to grow to become a better person. There is always more to learn!

Have a great week!

8/18/25 - Ônibus

Happy Monday, especially for all those who've started school already!

On Wednesday we had the 1st District Leader council in Missão São Paulo Sul since over a year ago. We got to get a training on our roles as DLs, we were given instruction on our District council.

On Thursday we had suprise interviews with President Moura. Last transfer we got skipped, so we didn't get interviews, so we finally got to have interviews. Even though there was only 2 companionships getting interviewed it went for about 3 hours then the bus took about 2 hours to go a half hours distance cause of rush hour. But, even though we spent a lot of time there, it was super nice to be able to talk to President, and while we were waiting we spent the time getting to know Sister Moura.

On Sunday we had our ward conference so we had a ton of people at church. Some inactive members, a bunch of the recent converts here, and a bunch of friends. Our friends Pedro, Richard, Thales, and their little sister Wini all went! Later on Sunday we went to there house and put them on date for baptism!! So, here in a few weeks we'll be filling the font!

Just a warning, I'm going to send out the email on Wednesday next week cause were going to the temple!!

See ya'll next Wednesday

8/11/26 - Fire🔥 and Water🌊

Ben Vindos a mais uma semana!!

This week has been a little crazy. We we've been preparing for Nadja's baptism!! Nadja was baptised Yesterday! But, we'll get back to that in a second.
🔥
On Thursday we had a not very fun situation. We were in a lesson when we got a phone call. Obviosly, I hung up. After we left the lesson they called again and it was the maneger of our apartment building. She said that there was a strange noise coming from our apartment and that it'd been going on for over 3 hours and that we had to get there as soon as possible to find out what it is. The only problem was that we were a 40 min walk from our apartment. So, we started walking/running. It turns out that it was our fire alarm. Luckly it was having issues and there was no fire, but the maneger spent 30 minutes chewing us out for leaving a fire alarm on in our apartment. We explained to her that it was the mission rules but she was still mad so we called the housing secritary and let her talk to him. It all turned out fine in the end.
🌊
Nadja got baptized!! it was such an amazing day! Nadja chose me to baptize her so I got to break out the white pants and tie. The water was super warm so that was nice during these cold days. Nadja realy is one of the most elect people I've met! She has so much faith and asked us if she could get baptized! After we got to eat cake that the relief society president made. She makes the best cakes ever! We had 2 other friends there who stayed for the baptism and they were asking about baptism after so here in a few weeks, there should be water in the church!

Mas, é isso gente.

Tenha uma boa semana!

8/4/25 - Milagres

Merry P-Day!

I hope you all had a good week

We had some miracles this week!

This week we had a lesson with our friend Nadja, the elect media reference. She had a ton of questions about the stuff she had studied! During the lesson she asked us if she had to be baptized again to join the church, so we gave her a date on the spot for next week! So pray for her so that everything can go well.

On Tuesday we passed by the house of a street contact we had done a while ago, and marked with him to pass by on Saturday. He also told us he's got 2 younger brothers who are interested in hearing about Jesus Christ. So on Saturday, our friend ended up having to work, but we went anyway to where his brothers live and had a good lesson with them and they went to church! They said they really liked it and have a bunch of questions. We're going back this week to answer their questions! But finding them was the other miracle this week.

When we pray with faith, anything is possible.
Mosiah 27:14 And again, the angel said: Behold, the Lord hath heard the prayers of his people, and also the prayers of his servant, Alma, who is thy father; for he has prayed with much faith concerning thee that thou mightest be brought to the knowledge of the truth; therefore, for this purpose have I come to convince thee of the power and authority of God, that the prayers of his servants might be answered according to their faith.
The people and Alma all prayed with so much faith that the Lord sent an angel to help Alma the Younger get on the right path. So, pray and have faith that your prayers will be answered and they will be!

Have a good week!

7/28/25 - Zone Conferance, Transfers, Monkeys, and Suprise Baptism!?!?

Happy P-Day!! And welcome to those who are new on the email list (missionaries of the DHS 2024 class)!!

This weeks been pretty crazy as you can see from the title, so let's get into it.

On Thursday we had our Zone Conferance! They did Zone conferance a little different this time having the ZL's give the training and most of it was a practice of how to invite people to church and how to invite to be baptized. It was really cool to get a good practice in. And it was amazing to see friends in the mission, especially those who are going home!

On Wednesday I saw monkeys for the first time!! We were working with one of the youth in the ward near a more jungle area, and he said that at times a group of monkeys hang around that area. And they got there right on time! There was about 10 little monkeys there. We got to feed them little biscuits and I got to touch one! But I didn't get to hold it. One of the monkeys is more social than the others his name is Kevin.

So, Earlier the same day we saw the monkeys, I had traded my full jar of coins for paper money and I left the empty jar at the church since it was easier than going back to the house. On the way home that night it was getting pretty late and I was trying to decide if we should grab the jar from the church or just go back the next day and get it. We decided to go by the church. Sitting out front was the Bishop, and when we got closer he said, "Oh Elders Daví decided he wants to get baptized." Daví is a young man who's been going to Seminary for about 3 months with his friends, one of which is a member. So we talked to Daví and marked for Sunday! So, we make to talk with him once a day till Domingo.Thursday we taught the Plan of Salvation, Friday we got his mom's signature and did a practice interview, Saturday was the interview and he passed, and Sunday he was baptized!!

Yesterday we got the transfer email. Actually we didn't receive an email so me and Elder Lima (now Elder Ramildo cause there's too many Elder Limas in the mission) are staying together here in Assunção! We got permission to go to transfers anyway to say goodbye to those going home. This time whas extra hard cause my first trainer, my dad, Elder Beaumont is going home. We got to spend the P-day in a division together visiting a recent convert, Edilena, we baptized together in my first transfer, so we really got to hang out and talk again before he went home. So if any of you are in West Jordan, Utah August 10th, you should go to his homecoming (for more information send me a message). It was really cool to actually understand her! She made creme de cupuaçu and bought a cake for us. She is such an awesome lady!

This week I studied the "O Youth of the Noble Birthright" by Bradley R Wilcox. It is such a great talk! He talks about the people of God, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, are people chosen by God to help other people. It explains exactly why we live differently than "normal" people. God has put his trust in us to be his crew members on this cruise ship of life. We're here to help, serve, and support others on this journey. With this extra responsibility comes compensation, extra blessings and the power of Jesus Christ to carry these extra responsibilities. I invite you to give it a read. That talk realy does have power.

Have a good week!

7/21/25 - Divisão

Happy Monday!

This week I did a division with the ZL, old comp, Elder Atkinson! I've finally stepped foot in Diadema(the hood)!  It's kinda crazy there. It was great to be able to hang out with him, talk about old times, and eat pizza!

On Friday there was an activity with the YSA of the stake. It went pretty well and the host's inactive brother and the brothers nonmember wife were there so we got to sit for a little bit and teach them!

Other than that, this weeks been pretty normal. Sooo...

God and Jesus love you and know you by name and they have a plan for your life. Trust in Them and His plan and Think Celestial! You'll make it through this. You've got this, because Jesus Christ has got you!

Happy new week!

7/14/25 - This is the strangest thing I've ever Done!! -Flynn Ryder

Happy Monday everyone!

My bad for not writing an email last week, life's gotten pretty busy here.

Happy 4th of July last week!!🇺🇸🦅🔫🎇🇺🇸

On the 4th of July I went to my first Festa Junina, which is basically a Brazilian harvest party. It was super fun and there was a bunch of good food! And as the 4th of July I taught a bunch of people how to say "God bless America" and took a video of it! (Shameless google photos plug: https://photos.app.goo.gl/EQG3K68BLWXZWLEz8)  This was a pretty fun 4th of July even though there were no fireworks or guns🔫.

Now this week

Remember the part in the movie Tangled where Flynn Ryder is swordfighting Maximus (the horse) with a frying pan? He said the quote above.  It fits pretty well to how this week went.

So, on Wednesday we had a really great day and we had a bunch of unplanned lessons and by the end of the day where we had to start walking home, I wanted to do more visits but we just have time.  We were walking home when this guy, his brother, and his mom start walking near us going the same direction.  But they were dragging a washing machine from the hose, just like you'd walk a dog!! So like the good missionaries we try to be, we asked if we could help. They said they were good so we just kept walking. Then when our turn came, they turned too and started walking up the hill, so we just hopped in pushing a washing machine up a hill.  We got to where they were going and we talked for a bit, it turns out that the mom is an inactive member! We invited her to the activies at the church and we went our separate ways.

Then the next day comes with a bit of a story (sorry).  So I don't remember if any of you remember, but a month or so ago in my email I mentioned about an American we found living in São Caetano. So, when I got transferred out two Sisters, who don't speak english, were transferred in. And I'm still the DL here, so I got to figure out how were going to teach this American. So the only english speakers in the district are me, and a Colombian Sister.  So on Thursday I taught the Plan of Salvation to an American with a Sister as my companion. So just Wednesday and Thursday were the strangest things I've ever done!

On Saturday there was an activity of a bunch of religions in São Caetano so all the missionaries in the stake got a chance to go for at least a few hours to help out. I got to see a bunch of my friends from São Caetano!

This really is the true church of God here on earth! Pray and ask God for a testimony of it if don't already have one. And if you do, go share it!!

Ate próxima!!

6/30/25 - Messages

Hello everyone!

I hope you've all had a good week (or at least productive one)!

This week was a little weird.  We're still trying to get to know all the people here which is going kinda slow. And the area book for this area was super unorganized.  In the more than 130 people that we had in the records with having interest, 83 of them didn't even have an address. So, this weekend we spent almost 2 days just sending messages to people organizing the books.  We spent 2 days just sitting down sending messages untill our WhatsApp got blocked for sending spam, haha, then going out and doing street contacts or visiting people. But now our records are more organized and we can see what's actually going on here.

I can feel that the works starting to pick up here. We've finally got an idea of what's going on, so we can make a plan to help. This week is going to be the best yet here in Assunção!

One thing that I've found out here is that as missionaries, we're always teaching the basics, or the primary answers.  Read the scriptures, pray and go to church.  Because these realy are the thing most important to have faith and to grow our faith.  Someone may have all the scriptural knowledge in the world, but if they don't go to church and pray their faith is going to diminish.  Someone can go to church every Sunday without fail, but if they don't study the scriptures and pray their faith with diminish.  Someone can pray every single day, morning, night, and at every meal, but if they don't read the scriptures or go to church, their faith will diminish.
Alma 28:30 ...for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.
It is in these primary thing that we grow our faith.  When we do all these things and stay firm, even if it doesn't look like our faith is growing, He will give us more.  When we fail at doing these primary thing, the simple stuff, we move backwards, our faith diminishes. There is no standing still on the covenant path.  There's moving forward and moving backwards.  Choose which way you want to go and stuck with it.  Stay on the covenant path, do the easy things, the primary things, and your faith will grow.

Have an amazing week!

6/23/25 - Week 1 in Assunção

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope everyone has had a great week!

Not a whole lot happened this week.  This Sunday we had stake conference so everyone in the stake got together in one compleatly full chapel. It was kinda crazy.  I got to see a lot of people from São Caetano so it wasn't a whole lot different than the past Sundays that I had there.  Also, to my suprise, Lucas was invited to share his testimony in front of the whole stake! Even after just one week of being a member.  It was so cool to see him again and it looked like something in him had changed.  After his baptism he looks like a New person, and it is soo cool to see that light of Christ that has grown in him!

I hope you all have a great week! Go Sha the light of Christ that you have!

6/17/25 - Baptism and transfers!

Sorry for not sending an email yesterday, my P-Day was moved again. It was moved because of transfers! But you'll have to wait for that news for a second.

Lucas was baptized on Sunday!!  It was truly a super special moment!  He really was so ready to accept the gospel in his life.  A few days before his baptism, we asked him if he had prayed about Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and the church to see if they were true.  In the moment he said no, so we invited him to do so.  The next day he sent us an audio message saying that he knows Joseph Smith was a prophet, the Book of Mórmon is true and that the church is true!  Over the last few weeks it really has been amazing to see him learn and grow a testimony! Then Monday we went to visit him just in case we left and we gave him an English book of Mormon with a little message from us both in the front.  He said it was worth more than gold to him!!

We had transfers today because there's was so many missionaries going home. There was a over 20 missionaries going home and there wasn't a place for them to stay Monday night so they just moved transfers. Speaking of which, I left São Caetano.  I'm going to Assunção which is in the same district and I'm staying district leader. And I'm training!! He gets to the field on Wednesday, so he's going to be fresh out of the MTC! His name's Elder Lima so at least he'll speak Português.  But I super excited (and super nervous) about being able to train!

Jacob 7:5
And he had hope to shake me from the faith, notwithstanding the many revelations and the many things which I had seen concerning these things; for I truly had seen angels, and they had ministered unto me. And also, I had heard the voice of the Lord speaking unto me in very word, from time to time; wherefore, I could not be shaken.

When we remember the spiritual experiences we've had nothing can shake us from the faith!! Remember your experiences with the spirit, write them down and continue to have these special experiences and your testimony will grow so fast!!

Have a good week!

6/9/25 - Zone Conferance and Temple P-Day!!

My bad for not writing last week, I had a good reason.  Last week my P-Day was moved to Tuesday and my district got to go to the Temple so we had a pretty busy day!!

There was a lot that happened these last two week so lets get started!

We had Zone Conferance Teusday of last week!  It was so cool to see so many missionaries I know.  Especialy some that are going home soon.  Speaking of which, next week is already transfers so we'll see if I stay here in Sao Caetano or if I leave! We'll also be loosing Elder Hild who got here to Sao Caetano with me, he's headed home in just about a week.  At Zone conferance we got to see examples of the zone leaders teaching all the lessons. It was really cool to get other ideas of how to teach from those who have a lot more time and experiance.

The week before last we got news that a Sister in our District would be going home. She had some problems with her knee and was having to go home early. So, on Friday the District got together and we sent Sister Aires off with a proper missionary funeral! That day we also got to meet the new Sister in the District, Sister Santos.  She was serving over in Angola in Africa but had visa problems so she got reassigned to São Paulo Sul while she waits for that to get sorted out.

On Tuesday my District finally got to go to the Temple! The last time I went inside the Temple was in October right after I got to Brazil.  This time I was actually able to understand stuff!  Being in the Temple is such a special experiance,  especialy after so long without it.  I got answers to my prayers that I couldn't have gotten anyother place.  After the Temple we were planning to go to a muesam in São Paulo that has some Van Gough paintings and a lot of really other cool stuff. The muesam is always closed on Monday, but we got there and found out that even though it was open, you have to sign up to get in so we just hung out near there and visited some other cool stuff in the area.

Last Friday, we got to meet up with Gilberto from Vila Luzita (you can find out more about him in really old emails).  He's super cool and made paçoca cake for Elder Hild since he's going home next week.  He invited both companionships in São Caetano and he didn't even know I was here.  It was so amazing to see that he recognized me!  It was so cool to get to meet up with him and talk about old times!  He told me to let him know before i go home so he can make a cake for me!

Some other good news is our area is finally progressing!! The week before last, we found two people who have so much potencial!  Lucas and Angela.  They were both media referencias.

The first time we were able to get in contact with Angela was the last time we were going to try. we had already tried four times with no success, but when we finally got into contact with her she told us her story. She's been fighting cancer for the last six years.  So in the first contact we were able to give her a priesthood blessing and the spirit was palpable in the room! It was such an amazing experience. She was able to come to church for fast and testimony meeting and she went up and bore her testimony of the two angels who came to her house. It was super sweet!

When we got in contact with Lucas we gave him a Book of Mormon and invited him to church, he was able to go and also bore his testimony! We had atranged for the president of the Elders quorum to pick up Angela the first Sunday that she went which was also the first Sunday of Lucas.  On their way back to the chapel they saw Lucas walking down the road with Book of Mormon in hand, so the elders quorum president stopped his car and told Lucas to hop in! He really saved our butts that day!  Weve had more lessons with Lucas and his an amazing guy.  He is on date to get baptized next Sunday!  He really wants to help serve in the church.  This morning he sent us a message saying he had a dream about going to the chapel and helping clean.  Even though there wasn't going to be anyone there on a Monday morning he sent us a message that he was already on the way, so we quickly got ready and spent a few hours with him cleaning! I'm so excited for his baptism next week, he's going to make a super strong member of the church!

The spiritual message this week is about the Temple. The Temple really is the house of the Lord here here on Earth. It really is a house of prayer. A house where we can get answers from the Lord.  It's a house of service where we can do the ordinances for our ancestors so they can enter the kingdom of God. My invite this week is to make an effort to try to go to the Temple or prepare yourself to enter soon.  It really is a place where you can get answers to your prayers.

Until next week!

5/26/25 - Oi

Well, hello again!  This one will be short cause I really like procrastinating aperently.  One day in the future I'll write my email early, it's just not today.

This week I got to do my first batismal interview! Carlos is such a great guy and super excited to get baptized! He passed the interview!

This week we set up a family home evening with João and Eliana, who are recent converts is the ward, and the Elders Quorum president and his family.  They got a long super great and spent hours talking.  It was so amazing to see the organization or the church working how it's supposed to.  The missionaries (us) taught and baptized this couple and now it's the wards job to help these souls stay firm in the gospel. Right now we're seeing the transition period of the missionaries handing over the responsibility to the ward members. The ward is supposed to be like one big family, we should be there to help our brothers and sisters.  Everyone need help at times, and it's our responsibility as their siblings to help them.  So this week keep your eyes open for someone in need and then help them to the best of your ability!

Untill next time,
Elder Bliss

Ps. To clarify the title from last week, I found out that a video was posted on TikTok of me and Elder Wright while we were in Jabaquara saying they've always wanted to to talk to the missionaries.  The person called "Elder!" and so we did a contact with them.  I even remember doing this contact!  The post has 2.824 views. So, I'm basically famous.

5/20/25 - Apparently I'm Famous?

5/12/25 - English, Portuguese, and Italian?

Welcome to another week!

This has been a pretty good week.

On Wednesday we were just walking down the road visiting people when this random guy called us over then started English with us. His friend, who was there too, was super drunk and started speaking Italian to us. I think he though we could understand him, but. Other than the odd word here and there I didn't understand a thing he said. So that was our fun experience for the week.

Other than that our week was fairly normal.

On Friday we had a lesson with the help of some youth in the ward.  After the lesson we got to hang out with the youth for a while and we got to help one of them with some his questions about the gospel, about the priesthood, and about the mission.  For those youth who are reading this, it is never too early to start preparing for your mission. For the youth and everyone else: Read preach my gospel, study the scriptures, study your patriarcal blessing, and gain a testimony for yourself.  There is nothing more precious than a firm testimony!

Have a great week!

5/5/25 - Transfers!

Happy P-Day!

Not a whole lot happened this week.  We did a whole lot of knocking doors that came to nothing.

We had lunch with João and Eliana (who were baptized a few weeks ago) this week which happened to be on Elder Phillips birthday! So they threw a surprise party for him.  It was super fun!

On Saturday we did a family home evening with some recent converts in our ward William and Lívian.  We made Buffalo wings with some imported Buffalo sauce Elder Atkinson bought from Sam's club.  I love the people who are in this ward!

We got transfer news! I'll be staying in São Caetano A!  My new comp is Elder Phillips who was in São Caetano B and my old comp Elder Atkinson moved to São Caetano B, so our house stayed the same we just traded companions around.

My mission is in a state of change with our new President.  Before we hardly had any DLs, everything was done in zones.  Now President Moura is moving to be more like a traditional mission.  One of these things is calling more DLs and focusing more on the district than the zone as a whole.  I have been one of these missionaries called to be a District leader.  So, I have a lot of learning to do this transfer.  But, I'm excited to take on this new responsibility and learn how to help not only my investigators but other missionaries too.

Converts are some of the most precious people in our church.  People who made the choice to come unto Christ and have a new life in Him.  One of the best ways we can help people especially, those new or retuning to the church, feel the love of Christ is to be their friend. My invite to you this week is to find that one person at church you don't know and go say hi, be their friend.

Have a good week!

4/28/25 - Interviews and Poker

This week wasn't anything too special.

We had interviews with President Moura this week and it was super cool to talk with our new mission President 1 on 1.

This Saturday we did a family home evening at the house of 2 recent converts in the ward where we played poker and whoever didn't win had to drink a dried egg powder mixed with water. I did not win.  It was disgusting! My comp ended up throwing up! These recent converts are super cool and we'll be going back this Saturday to make Buffalo wings!

The Book is blue and the Church is true! Read the Book of Mormon and pray about it and you can know for yourself!!

Have an amazing week!

4/21/25 - Feliz Páscoa!!

Helo friends and family!!

This will be a quick one cause I have to go to bed soon.

This week it started cooling off and we had a lot rain. One of the days, we were walking down the road in the rain and a city truck passed by with a rescue boat on top of it.  I dont know exactly why they had a boat, but I think one of the roads got so much water piled up they had to bring boats out to get people out of their cars. We live nowhere near any body of water. So that goes to show how much rain we had.

I hope everyone had an amazing Easter! Easter is such a special time of year to commemorate the atonement, death, and ressuection of Jesus Christ!  It is because of Jesus Christ that we can repent, be resurrected and live with our Father in Heaven again.   He knows our pains, our dificulties, our struggles, our temptations, all of our bad days amd everything to come.  He knows it because he lived it. He lived it because he loves us. Because he loves you. And because he lived your struggles he knows exactly how to help you.  I invite you this week to think how the atonement of Jesus Christ has helped you in your life, and how he can help you in the future.  Open your heart and let the atonement of Jesus Christ help you and heal you!

Have an amazing week!

4/14/25 - Division, Wedding, and Baptism!

Olá, tudo bem?

This week wasn't too crazy.

On Friday the couple who has been being taught since before we got to the area, João and Eliana, finally got married!! So yesterday on Sunday they got baptized!! Me and my comp, Elder Atkinson had the opportunity to baptize them!

Getting married in Brazil is a pain.  Here's a little backstory from last week. Last week this couple had to go to a government office to set up the wedding date cause they have to do the leagal part of the wedding in the office. For the wedding they need two wittnesses, who have to have a Brazilian ID card.  Elder Atkinson and I were going to be the wittnesses but I haven't gotten my blue card yet and Elder Atkinson was assulted a few months ago and lost his, lucklly there is another dupla in this ward. The only problem was, one of the other dupla is a greenie and also doesnt have his card yet. Lucklly, we had just finnished a division and one missionary in that dupla had his ID card (Shout out to Elder Wright). So, out of the 6 Elders that were there at the time only 2 of us had their Brazilian ID card.  So Elder Hild and Elder Wright signed up to be the wittnesses for their wedding.

Sorry, this part's a little confusing, please bare with me. So, back to this week.  On Thursday I did a little division with Elder Phillips cause his and my companions, the ZLs, had a leadership meeting with President Moura. So Elder Phillips and I went over to Planalto to start a division with Elder Phillips and Elder Spencer so Elder Wright could do a division in São Caetano with Elder Hild so they could be the wittnesses at João and Eliana's wedding Friday morning.  To clear things up, Thursday night Elder Spencer and Phillips were together, I was back with Elder Atkinson and Elder Hild and Wright were together.

Em fim, everything went smoothly and João and Eliana were baptized Sunday right after our church meetings!

Fun side note, my comp chapter 14nd some people at Sam's Club to let us buy stuff without a Sam's Club card, so now I am 1 jar of peanut butter and a hoodie richer.

Tonight, our wards Relief Society came in cluch and brought us some Easter candy! We'll see if it makes it to Sunday.

I'd like to talk a little bit about this season of Easter.  It's not simply a holiday of bunnys chocolate and eggs,  it's a season to remember the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us.  Elder Gary E. Stevenson spoke about this time of year last week in General Conferance.

"We now enjoy a mix of decorations. What was once almost exclusively bunnies and Easter eggs is now balanced with the Christus and images of the empty tomb, the resurrected Savior appearing in the garden outside the tomb, and the Savior’s appearance to the Nephites. We are also striving to make Easter a season rather than just a day. We are trying to be more conversant, thoughtful, and celebratory of Palm Sunday and Good Friday and of the sacred events that took place during all of Holy Week." And We Talk of Christ April 2025

I invite you to make Easter a season, not just a day.  Study the scriptures, eat a little candy, and Remeber Christ! Maybe you should read his talk again, it's realy good.

Have a good week!

4/7/25 - Conferência Geral!!

Opa! Tudo bem? I hope y'all had an amazing General Conference weekend!

This week was pretty busy for me.  We did 2 divisions this week and one of them ended up being hijacked by another elder in my ward who had a reference for us, so I went with him to meet our new friend.

The best part of this week would definitely have to be General Conference.  We watched the first session on Saturday in our chapel, and the second we watched part of it in our chapel again, till we got called out for my comp to do a baptismal interview in another area, so we spent a while on a bus that night. Sunday we watched part of the first session in a members house right after we ate lunch. We left early to go watch the baptism (the work of the Lord never stops!) My comp actually did the baptizing.  After the baptism we watched the last session in the chapel where the baptism was.  General Conference is always so special to listen to.

When the recordings come out, I invite you to go back and watch those talks again and really study them there is so much to get out of the words of our modern-day prophets and apostles.

Have an amazing week!

3/31/25 - President Queiroz Emergency transfer??

Bem-vindos para mais um e-mail!

So last Monday we got a message that we were going to have a meeting with Elder Koch the President of the Brasil area. So Tuesday morning we all showed up to this meeting not knowing what to expect.  Elder Koch got up to open the meeting and said, "Welcome to the going away of President and Sister Queiroz." President and Siter Queiroz are switching places with one of the councilors in the CTM presidency.  So President and Sister Queiroz are now serving in the CTM presidency to help with President Queiroz' health issues.  I'm sad that we are loosing Presendent Queiroz, but I'm also excited to see how Presendent Moura does things.  I am really glad Presendent Queiroz now gets to serve in the CTM or, in the words of Sister Queiroz "Ceu do trainimento missionário" (The heaven of missionary training). It will be an amazing experience for them and President Queiroz will be able to take better care of his health.

On Wednesday we all got together again for the welcoming of President and Sister Moura! They seem to be really cool people and it will be so good to work with them.  There will probably be a lot of changes in the mission in the next few transfers, but no one knows exactly whats going to happen.

Yesterday I did a division with Elder Phillips, the comp of the other ZL, so our companions could go do some ZL things.  We taught 2 lessons in Elder Phillips area.  We showed up to the first and the lady we were teaching brought us into her house and there was another guy there, so we did the common greating in Português and he just replied something about Americans.  It took me a sec to realize he was saying he was American and didn’t speak Português. So we sat and talked with him for a while.  He has been in Brazil for about a year, living on Google translate.  So, during the lesson we did a lesson in English and Portuguese for the 2 people we were teaching.  It was a very interesting lesson, to say the least.  And, teaching in English is really weird. I'm so used to teaching in Portuguese.

These next few transfers are going to be a season of change in Missão São Paulo Sul. But whatever changes is the will of the Lord so all will be good in the end.

Have an amazing week and wear your seatbelts!

3/17/25 - One Long Week

This week has been one of the longest weeks of my life.  So much has happened this week.  This week has felt like at least 3 weeks for me. So get ready for a long email.

So,  this week started off with Elder Christensen going home to serve a service mission. So on Tuesday me, Elder Wright, and Elder Spencer got to be in a trio and take care of 2 areas. It was pretty fun actually and we got a bunch of work done.

Wednesday morning we had a lesson in Elder Spencer's area about the restoration.  In the middle of the lesson we got a call, so I just ignored it cause we were in a lesson.  But they just kept calling. Elder Wright checked the phone and it was the APs. So, I excused myself to answer the call, stepped outside side, leaving the other two to continue the lesson(perks of being in a tro😄).  They called us to say, "Pack your bags you're all getting emergency transferred.  Head home after the lesson, pack, go to your lunch then head back to your house and wait for our call." I had to ask, "All 3 of us?" Just to make sure. So after the lesson we headed home to start packing.  And the APs texted and said to be ready by 2:30. So we packed as much as we could before lunch then headed to our last lunch in Jabaquara.  We ate some really good Venezuelian food with a Venezuelian family, said sorry we had to go so soon and headed home to finish packing.  We finished just after 2:30 and just sat there waiting for the APs till 4 when they showed up.  It was then when we finally learned where we our going.  I headed to São Caetano A (in zone Rudge Ramos) with Elder Atkinson.  Elder Wright and Elder Spencer are staying together heading to my old area of Planalto A (which is also in Rudge Ramos so I still get to see them). Also, regular transfers are in Monday, so there's a chance that I'll move to another area next week again, but we'll see.

So now I'm in São Caetano A, one of the richest areas in the mission.  We have seen a bunch of really cool cars, A bunch of Porsches, some Camaros, some Mustangs and some other really cool ones.
There is no poor area in our area.  There's an area where all the crosswalks have lights in the ground for pedestrians to show if the light to walk is red or green. It's a really nice area.  Also all the busses here are free.

Also, I really like my new comp.  He was in the zone Mauá while I was there so, I've talked to him before and know him a little bit, so it'll be nice to get to know him better! He's also one of the new LZs in our zone. I'm definitely going to learn a lot from him. We are also living with Elder Hild and Elder Phillips who are in São Caetano B.

On Saturday our day was pretty much spent completely in other areas.  We did some street contacts in the morning, then after lunch we went to one of the sisters area to give a blessing to one of their friends. Then we went back to our area visited 2 people, then went to another are so my comp could do a baptismal interview.

Our ward is really big and nice so we used our suits on Sunday, but it's nice that the weather has cooled off so we weren't dying in our suits.  Our ward had a special class specifically for new converts and visitors which is really nice to get to know the new converts and people who are visiting.

After church one of the ward missionaries grabbed us and took us to give a blessing of health to one of the members. And then he took us to the house of the member who we were eating lunch.  During lunch the member brought out a Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants that he got on his  mission.  They were some of the first editions in Portuguese the BofM was from 1939 and the D&C 1950. It was really cool.

Today we did a churrasco(barbecue) as a zone at the Planalto chapel. It was really cool to hang out with the new zone today in a familiar chapel. Also some members showed up and it was amazing to hang out with some amazing members (especially now that I can actually talk to them).

Spiritual thought:
I've been reading the Book of Mormon all the way through and this verse stuck out to me.
2 Nephi 10:23 Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.

The one thing that we have control over in our life is our agency.  It is a God given gift and it cannot be taken away. Use your agency to do good things.  It is already written that we have two choices when it all comes down to it. There are a lot of choices on the way, so we need to make the right small choices so we can be in the right place to choose Eternal life and not everlasting death.  It's your choice.  Make sure to choose the right one. It's already written who will win, you just have to choose the right side so you can have eternal happiness.

Thank you to all who made it through the email.  This week may have been long but, it wasn't a bad week there was a lot of really good things that has happened and a lot of work done.

Untill next week

3/10/25 - Zone Conference

This ones going to be extra short, my bad. Im going to try to get better at writing emails sooner.

We had zone conference this week! It was pretty good! Sister Queiroz spoke for 2 straight hours then we ate lunch there and then we listened to more people talk for a few more hours. There of good things talked about, I'm just writing this very late.

This week has been cooler than the last few weeks and there have actually been clouds. Today it actually rained for the first time in 4 weeks.

I hope you all have a great week! I'll make sure to write a better email next week.

11/24/25 - Temple P-Day!

I didn't send an email last week cause we went to the Temple on Friday! Highlights: The Temple! I love every time that I've been abl...
